The accucorr 3000 correlator system is an awesome set of equipment for finding underground water leakage. It includes an all digital system that ensures no analog to digital conversion from the sensors through transmission to the computer analysis. The new digital sensors can distinguish leak noises 10 times quieter than previous sensors and they have a low frequency response down to 0.1 Hz. This means that not only smaller leaks can now be found, but leaks on large diameter and PVC pipe can be located more easily.

We know, because this small leak was located using this new system. The leak is next to the storm sewer intake and is estimated to be one gallon per minute. Previous attempts to pinpoint the leak with the earlier generation of equipment had failed. The leak could barely be heard at one listening station, but the next nearest contact point had no perceivable sound.

 

The Accucorr 3000 system was able to give a clear reading on the small leak that was unsolvable with the older equipment. We are thankful for the increased sensitivity and capabilities of our new systems.
